42.
It was a pretty atrocious year for the San Francisco 49ers, who are looking for their third head coach in as many years. They fired Jim Harbaugh after the 2014 season and dumped Jim Tomsula and his mustache after the 2015 season. Now the question is who will lead this ship into the winning waters the Niners were just starting to become accustomed to not that long ago.

Just think, the Niners were in the Super Bowl and just yards away from winning a title three seasons ago. Now they’re in shambles and might have to overhaul everything to get to where they want to be. A new quarterback in the draft seems more than probable, veteran signings probably won’t happen since there’s no immediate winning in the picture and that’s just the surface of all the change in store.

The immediate future is not bright for the Niners, but if they find the right head coach and allow him to see his vision through, things could turn around sooner rather than later. Things are always darkest before the dawn, but the real question is have things gotten as dark as they can in San Francisco or is the pain train still barreling on down the tracks, headed directly towards the bottom of the Pacific?
.
