The Cincinnati Bengals do not have any plans to fire head coach Marvin Lewis at this time according to sources.

The future of Cincinnati Bengals head coach Marvin Lewis has been in question for quite some time now. Rumors that he might be fired started heating up after the Bengals lost to the Steelers in the AFC Wild Card game on Saturday. According to Adam Schefter, don’t expect Lewis to be fired anytime soon.

Lewis has set an NFL record by starting his career with an 0-7 record in the playoffs. The record used to be held by former New Orleans Saints and Indianapolis Colts head coach Jim Mora who has gone 0-6 in the playoffs. He last coached in the NFL in 2001. Marvin Lewis has lost in the first round of the playoffs in five consecutive seasons for the Bengals since being hired in 2003.

Lewis lost control of his team on Saturday as dumb penalties and questionable decisions (such as running back Jeremy Hill not going down at the first hint of contact) allowed the Steelers to get multiple chances to grab the lead, which they did. Lewis has a career 112-92-2 record with the Bengals. He has a career .549 winning percentage.
