According to a report, Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Jeremy Maclin doesn’t have a torn ACL, but he has a high ankle sprain.
There were a lot of big injuries during the Kansas City Chiefs drubbing of the Houston Texans on Saturday. Chiefs wide receiver Jeremy Maclin suffered a major blow to his right knee and had to be helped off the field.
He left in tears and had to be consoled, as he feared the worst that had happen. However, after the MRI, it might not be all bad for Maclin.
According to Adam Schefter, Maclin isn’t believed to have a torn ACL. He still has a high ankle sprain and his status for next week’s game against the New England Patriots is still up in the air.
MRI showed Chiefs WR Jeremy Maclin did NOT tear his ACL, per source. He did suffer a high ankle sprain. Status for Saturday at NE uncertain.

While a high ankle sprain is still serious enough to keep him out of future games in the postseason, the good news is that there doesn’t appear to be any ligament damage.
At this time of the year, suffering a ligament injury would also affect Maclin for next season and he is a major part of what the Chiefs do on offense.
Maclin is one of the good guys in the NFL and seeing him back on the field soon after fearing the worst would be a welcomed sight.
