According to Adam Schefter, Vontaze Burfict will be suspended for his hit on Antonio Brown

The Cincinnati Bengals suffered a crushing loss on Saturday, losing 18-16 to the division rival Pittsburgh Steelers at home in the first round of the NFL playoffs. They could be suffering another huge loss before next season even begins. According to Adam Schefter, it’s very likely that Vontaze Burfict will be suspended for his hit on Antonio Brown.

Burfict was handed a personal foul penalty for hitting Antonio Brown (who was defenseless at the time) in the head, leading with his shoulder. Brown was knocked out of the game and has been diagnosed with a concussion.

That’s not a good look for Vontaze Burfict, as Brown is clearly defenseless and Burfict doesn’t do much to try to avoid hitting Brown in the head. Burfict has already been fined numerous times by the league during his career, which makes a suspension even more likely for him.

Burfict almost won the game for the Bengals by intercepting Landry Jones with less than two minutes remaining in the game. He immediately sprinted to the locker room in celebration. Perhaps Burfict should have stayed in the locker room because his hit on Brown not only cost his team the game, but could cost them games next season if he’s suspended.
