Russell Wilson caps off a great drive with a short touchdown pass to wide receiver Doug Baldwin.
The Seattle Seahawks‘ offense was completely ineffective in the frigid weather in Minneapolis, Minnesota for the first three quarters of the Seahawks’ NFC Wild Card game against the Minnesota Vikings. Vikings kicker Blair Walsh had accounted for all nine of the game’s points in the first three quarters, all Minnesota field goals.
Then out of nowhere, the Seahawks were able to put together a long drive that led to a score for the visiting team. Seattle quarterback Russell Wilson orchestrated a magnificent drive that had a snap fly over his head and an unbelievable catch by wide receiver Tyler Lockett.
A few plays later, Wilson would venture out of the pocket to his right to connect with a goal line aerial strike to his favorite wide receiver target in Doug Baldwin. After kicker Steven Hauschka nailed the point after attempt, the Seahawks were only down two points to the home team Vikings, 19-7 with 11:37 to play in the NFC Wild Card game.

It seemed that Seattle would need to make a play on special teams to stay in this game down two scores. Instead Wilson’s poise and resilience allowed the Seahawks to get in the end zone early in the fourth quarter despite having no such luck in the first 47 minutes of the game.
Seattle is the two-time reigning NFC champ and will have to play all three NFC playoff games away from CenturyLink Field to get back to the Super Bowl for the third consecutive year. However, Seattle’s ability to navigate deep playoff runs make them an incredibly dangerous No. 6 seed in the NFC.
A great defense and a Super Bowl winning quarterback are a good combination for the Seahawks going forward.
