Seahawks don’t know if Marshawn Lynch will play vs Panthers
With a road game against the Carolina Panthers looming, the Seattle Seahawks aren’t sure they’ll have Marshawn Lynch.
The Seattle Seahawks may have escaped with a win against the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday, but they have a game on the road with the No. 1 seed Carolina Panthers on tap.
As they have for many weeks now, the Seahawks have had to go at it without running back Marshawn Lynch. While the Seahawks are moving onto the next round, they still aren’t so sure that they’re going to have Lynch in the backfield when they take on the Panthers next week.
After practice on Friday, Pete Carroll didn’t seem so sure about Lynch’s return when talking to reporters, which means it could be very likely that he isn’t able to go against Carolina, according to The Score.
"Carroll was asked about the next step in Lynch’s recovery, blankly answering, “I don’t know.”Lynch was widely expected to suit up in the wild-card round, but did not board the plane to Minnesota with his teammates, evidently still feeling the ill-effects of an abdomen injury that held him out of the Seahawks’ final seven games."
Lynch not coming back wouldn’t be a surprise at this point. He didn’t seem to have much left when he was last on the field for Seattle and they have seemed to do fine without him, despite the injury to Thomas Rawls.
However, against a stout front seven for the Panthers, the Seahawks are going to need all the help that they can get in the run game.
