Head coaching candidates for the Philadelphia Eagles.

The Philadelphia Eagles are looking for another head coach. It was only three years ago when dynasties were predicted across the land when owner Jeffrey Lurie signed Chip Kelly away from the Oregon Ducks. Kelly was supposed to change the way the game is played, bringing an up-tempo offense to the National Football League.

Instead, Kelly ushered in a pair of 10-win seasons before getting control of the team personnel moves, overtaking Howie Roseman. Unfortunately for Kelly, that was the beginning of the end. In a league not known for breah trades, Kelly went for broke in the offseason, dealing quarterback Nick Foles for counterpart Sam Bradford. Kelly then dealt running back LeSean McCoy for inside linebacker Kiko Alonso.

In free agency, Kelly allowed a ton of talent to leave, ranging from wide receiver Jeremy Maclin and outside linebacker Trent Cole, to offensive linemen Todd Herremans and Evan Mathis. However, the most damaging moves were actually two signings of both cornerback Byron Maxwell and running back DeMarco Murray. Despite spending more than $100 million on the two players, the Eagles got woeful seasons out of the pair. Maxwell has been one of the worst cornerbacks in football, and Murray has rode the bench in a big way.

So who can turn this mess around? Let’s take a look at the top five candidates.
