These poor Vikings fans thought that Blair Walsh kick went in (Video)

Blair Walsh missed a game-winning field goal against Seattle, but a few fans were tricked into thinking he had made it.
The Minnesota Vikings’ season was humming along nicely, and surprisingly, until it veered off to the left along with Blair Walsh’s field goal at the end of Sunday’s NFC Wild Card game. Walsh’s miss ended the Vikings season and has added another sad chapter the team’s postseason legacy — or curse, depending on who you root for.
Everyone who was watching couldn’t imagine the usually reliable Walsh missing what amounted to a chip shot, a field goal that was shorter than an extra-point. When he missed it, there was no question to everyone watching that the kick was not going to go through the uprights.
But fans who were sitting on the right side of the goal post were in the worst circle of Viking playoff Hell. That’s because from their vantage point, it looked like the kick went in — it didn’t.
That’s beyond cruel. At least people watching at home were warm and pissed off. These people were freezing their asses off and were tricked into thinking that the game had been won when it hadn’t been.
If you’re one of those sliver lining people though, there’s a little of that here. The rest of the world — and the stadium, for that matter — went from 60 to zero when Walsh missed that field goal, knowing full well that he had shanked it to the left. But these people in that section, if only for mere seconds, lived in an alternate universe where Walsh made the kick and the Vikings won.
They had one hell of a reality check to get smacked in the face with though.
