Shilique Calhoun. 10. player. 31.
Sadly, Jason Pierre-Paul became more than just an offseason distraction for the New York Giants; he was a metaphor. From the moment he blew off fingers in an horrific fireworks accident on July 4, his team started fracturing and, well, combusting.

Arguably the most talented, healthy and veteran team in their division, the Giants were unable to capture the NFC East in what was a very, very weak year. Now Tom Coughlin has resigned (see: fired behind closed doors, but deemed a resignation so all parties can save face) New York looks to pick up the pieces.

From an on-field standpoint, New York severely needs a pass rush – something that has historically been their bread and butter. With Kirk Cousins, Sam Bradford (or potential rookie draft pick X) and Tony Romo (plus Tony Romo’s inevitable midseason injury backup) all lining up under center, the time is ripe to rattle some middling quarterbacks’ cages.

Shilique Calhoun is your classic upside draft pick. He’s increased his sack total every year at Michigan State while playing in Mark Dantonio’s stout defense. He has a nose for the ball and is quick enough to bust up the run game from the end. Calhoun has all the makings of a plug-and-play – immediate impact pick.
. DE. Michigan State
