The NFL wildcard weekend is in the books. Here are the five best individual performances from the weekend.

What a weekend of football we’ve enjoyed. The NFL wildcard weekend is over, and before looking towards the eagerly anticipated divisional round, which sees some terrific match ups in both the AFC and NFC conferences, we will review some of the greater individual performances from the weekend.

On Saturday, we saw one of the most fiercely anticipated games in recent memory, between AFC North rivals, the Cincinnati Bengals and the Pittsburgh Steelers, after watching the Kansas City Chiefs lay down a statement by blowing out a sorry Houston Texans side 30-0. The Chiefs looked excellent, especially defensively, though that statement must be tempered by the Texans’ poor performance, while the Steelers were able to keep their cool in a heated contest to set up an away game with the Denver Broncos.

Who proceeds from the divisional round to the AFC championship remains to be seen, though injuries could play a major part in deciding who wins. Both the Chiefs and Steelers will fancy themselves to give the Patriots and Broncos a run for their money, and next weekend looks set to be yet another great weekend of football.

Meanwhile, Sunday saw the Seahawks hang on due to a failed 27 yard field goal attempt by Blair Walsh in the closing stages and break Minnesota hearts, while the Green Bay Packers found their offense and sauntered to a comfortable win over the Washington Redskins. The NFC divisional round now has two beautifully matched games, with the Packers travelling to Arizona, and the number one seed, Panthers, hosting the red hot Seattle Seahawks.

Before we get too excited about next weekend’s mouthwatering games, however, here we will take one last look back at the wildcard round, counting down the five best individual performances of the weekend.
