Animated video portraying Dabo Swinney and Nick Saban as college football’s “Odd Couple” is perfect segue for tonight’s championship game.

In case you live under a rock, there’s a pretty big football game on tonight at 8:30 p.m. ET on ESPN.

Nick Saban’s No. 2-ranked Alabama Crimson Tide are taking the field against Dabo Swinney’s top-ranked Clemson Tigers in the National Championship Game. It’s only the second edition of the new College Football Playoff series, and it’s the first time we’ll get to see the top two teams in the rankings go head-to-head for all the marbles.

While there are a lot of similarities between both programs, the two head coaches adhere to pretty contrasting philosophies, and it’s not hard to notice the differences in the way both men carry themselves, both on and off the field. Some might even go so far as to compare Saban and Swinney to Felix and Oscar, the famous “Odd Couple” characters from stage and screen.

As a matter of fact, someone already did go that far, and they did it in the best possible way: by creating a short animated clip of the two coaches in their respective elements. The video is the perfect blend of what we love most about Saturday mornings in this country: cartoons and college football.

Pulling real-life quotes from field interviews, practices, and game-time audio, the hilarious video illustrates (literally) just how different these two gridiron masterminds are in their approach to creating a winning system at the collegiate level. Given their myriad differences, it’s truly remarkable how both men have built such comparable and competitive programs.

Of course, the only question left to answer is which character – Dabo’s playful, dab-happy Oscar or Nick’s stern, no-nonsense Felix – will ultimately emerge victorious? Tune in tonight to find out, and follow Fansided all evening for in-game updates and highlight videos.
