High Salary C

Brook Lopez-Brooklyn Nets (8,600): The Nets best offensive option by far is Lopez, so depending on the new coach’s plans to get him the ball he could be poised for a huge run of scoring. He has been good lately with at least 17 points in each of his last eight contests and solid rebounding as well.  In those eight games, he has at least 39 fantasy points five times.  It’s a horrible matchup for BroLo since the Spurs allow the second-fewest fantasy points in the NBA to opposing centers, but if you have the money he’s the best center option on tonight’s limited board.

Marcin Gortat-Washington Wizards (6,900): While Lopez is the best center straight-up, I think Gortat is the best option for the money tonight as he takes on the Bulls frontcourt which has allowed the fifth-most fantasy points to opposing centers so for this season.  Gortat has scored exactly 12 points in six of his last seven games and has six double-doubles during that seven-game span.  He is usually right around 30 fantasy points as a result although he can explode as he did against the Kings (27 points, 16 rebounds) and the Nets (25 points, seven rebounds). Against the so-so interior defense of the Bulls, look for the Polish Hammer to have a good game in the Windy City.  ∗∗∗∗ UPDATE: Gortat is having trouble with his knee and is now a gametime decision for tonight. He should be OUT of all your lineups now.
