The NBA All-Star Weekend does a wonderful job of celebrating the league. With events like the three-point contest, dunk contest and rookie sophomore game, the best players and brightest stars at every level of development are showcased to a giant audience. Despite the great job the league does, there is still one thing missing from the weekend that would make it perfect.
The presence of Boris Diaw.
With that in mind, we here at The Friendly Bounce have decided to do something about that injustice. With just a week left to go in All-Star voting, we have decided to put together a campaign to get Diaw into the game. Currently Boris ranks outside of the top 15 in the voting results for the Western Conference frontcourt, meaning there is a fair amount of work left to be done. But we believe and are prepared to lead the push.
There are multiple ways to vote daily to try to get Diaw the rightful spot he deserves. It starts with heading to the NBA.com ballot every 24 hours and voting for Diaw and another two frontcourt players whose votes won’t really impact him (we suggest players like Luke Babbitt, Quincy Acy, Matt Bonner and Jeff Withey). Then head to Google and search NBAvote Spurs, and cast a vote for Diaw, again once every 24 hours, and vote for Diaw. Finally, head to the NBA app and fill out a ballot where you again vote for Diaw and people who will not threaten his place in the results.
Social media will also be a powerful tool in the campaign for Boris the Barista. On Instagram, Facebook and Twitter, make sure your profiles are public and make a post with the hashtag #NBAVote and Diaw’s full name. Again, every 24 hours be sure to vote again. On Twitter retweets will count, so you can retweet the Friendly Bounce account as we will vote for Boris every day.
It won’t be easy but as a group we can do this. It is time for Boris to have his time and make the NBA All-Star Game.
