Clemson will look to defeat Alabama on Monday night, but they might have to do it without Mackensie Alexander.

Monday night the Clemson Tigers will look to win their first national championship since the 1981 season, and if they’re going to pull this off, they’re going to have to do so by defeating the mighty Alabama Crimson Tide. Of course, with the way Alabama has been playing as of late, Clemson will need all hands on deck to get the job done.

Well, there might be a big problem in that regard, as Mackensie Alexander is dealing with a hamstring injury.

According to Aaron Brenner of the Post and Courier, there is a chance that Alexander will be out Monday night against the Crimson Tide in Arizona.

Alexander, considered one of the best defensive backs in the country, would be a significant loss for Clemson. As everyone knows by now, freshman wide receiver Calvin Ridley has emerged as one of the biggest offensive threats that Alabama has, so Alexander was expected to keep him in check on Monday night in the biggest game of the college football season.

If Alexander can’t go, then Ridley and the passing game might end up having a field day, especially if Derrick Henry can run the ball effectively against that Clemson defensive front.
