The New York Giants will reportedly interview Cincinnati Bengals offensive coordinator Hue Jackson for their available head coaching position.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the New York Giants will interview Cincinnati Bengals offensive coordinator Hue Jackson for their head coaching position. Jackson is now able to interview for any of the six vacant head coaching positions now that his Bengals have officially been knocked out of the AFC Playoffs.

With former Chicago Bears offensive coordinator Adam Gase now off the board since he agreed to become the next head coach of the Miami Dolphins, Jackson seems to have become the biggest name among offensive coordinators for 2016 head coaching positions. Jackson was the former head coach of the dysfunctional 2011 Oakland Raiders.

Since arriving in Cincinnati in 2012, the Bengals have been one of the NFL’s most balanced and prolific offenses in football, making the AFC Playoffs all four seasons with Jackson on the sidelines. He took over the role of offensive coordinator two years ago when former offensive coordinator Jay Gruden took a job with the Washington Redskins.

The Bengals under head coach Marvin Lewis have had a knack for not only not winning playoff games, but losing coordinators to head coaching positions. Gruden and current Minnesota Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer left Cincinnati after the 2013 NFL season. Jackson along with defensive coordinator Paul Guenther have received requests for interviews during this season’s NFL coaching carousel.

While Guenther may not want to leave the Queen City for the shores of Lake Erie to coach AFC rival Cleveland, it seems that Jackson will become a head coach again in 2016, as he has drawn considerable interest from at least the San Francisco 49ers and now the Giants organization.
