NHL Trade Rumors: 5 teams that must make a move before trade deadline
With the NHL trade deadline quickly approaching, which five teams should be looking to make a move before the deadline?
The 2016 NHL trade deadline is on Monday, February 29th. There figures to be quite a bit of action this season since many teams could consider themselves buyers. With all but five teams either in the playoffs or within four points of being in the playoffs, it’s great to be a seller this time of year.
So many teams being in contention could mean that the NHL will see more trades happen before the deadline. Teams in contention need help and they likely don’t want to wait around to see the prices for players rise. More importantly, they don’t want to risk being stuck with the leftovers while their opponents get to feast on the buffet.
Five teams in particular must get moving soon because they can’t risk being stuck with leftovers. Or in one team’s case, they don’t want to let their trade assets get ruined and they should instead sell high on their players. The buyers have needs that must be addressed as soon as possible should they want to put themselves in a position to succeed in the playoffs. The sellers need to start marketing their assets so that they can maximize their returns.
These five NHL teams must start making moves before the deadline.
