Chandler Jones was admitted to the hospital on Sunday and the details surrounding it are murky at best.

New England Patriots defensive end Chandler Jones was admitted to the hospital this past weekend, and the reports pouring out of Boston paint a murky picture. As high-profile stories like this, there are plenty of rumors and various bits of information coming out. Here’s the cut-and-dry version:

Jones was admitted to the hospital on Sunday after seeking out medical help. The Boston Herald reported that Jones showed up at a police station on Sunday morning, at which time officers made sure Jones was administered help. Considering it, “protected information on a medical condition,” police were mum answering questions about the incident. Jones was at practice on Monday and Tuesday.

Spinning forward to some of the rumors and in-depth details regarding the situation, Lou Merloni says that, per his source, Jones staggered up to the police department wearing neither a shirt nor shoes.

Further speculations from the incident have Jones coming from Rob Gronkowski’s residence.

Per the police dispatch, officers believed that Jones had ingested Class D substance, which, according to one legal website, is nearly always marijuana.

"“I got his keys off the kitchen table, I was able to lock the front door. If you want to just pass along to the fire, he was definitely involved with Class D delta before this happened, just so they know.”"

There is also speculation that Jones was treated for an overdose at the hospital. However, initial reports of the overdose have been pulled – it’s also fairly unlikely that this is the case, given that Jones was both able to get himself to the hospital and was on the practice field. The overdose rumors are also being paired with alleged pill usage.

Again, the details of this are pouring out – some obviously true, others not. With a high profile team like the Patriots, and leading into the team’s playoff game this weekend this story is likely just starting to gain legs.
