Jordan Spieth inks deal with Coca-Cola rivaling Lebron James, Taylor Swift and Jennifer Aniston.
Jordan Spieth the current world number one in golf and poster child for the golfing world, has signed another endorsement this morning. Spieth is joining the Coca-Cola team adding to their wide range of athletes.
Spieth is excited about being added to the Coca-Cola team, according to Golf Digest, “”Coca-Cola has always been associated with iconic sporting events and some of the world’s greatest athletes, so this is an incredibly cool opportunity for me, as a brand ambassador, I look forward to growing awareness for the sport of golf globally and engaging with fans in exciting new ways.”
Coca-Cola choosing to add Spieth to their team only makes sense after Speith is coming off of a career season where he earned $53,000,000, won two majors, claimed numerous awards and logged several PGA tour victories. Most recently shooting -30 under in the Hyundai Tournament of Champions in Kapalua, Hawaii, to win the event by eight strokes.
Spieth is also looking to sign his name to a USA Olympic team spot in the upcoming summer Olympic games in Brazil. Coca-Cola will utilize Spieth’s Olympics hopes in the upcoming advertising campaign he is to be centered around, according to a statement from Coca-Cola as reported in GolfDigest.
“As an Olympic hopeful, he also will become a member of Coca-Cola’s 6-Pack of Olympians and Paralympians during the run up to the Rio 2016 Olympic Games.”
The financials of the deal have not been released, but according to Darren Rovell and ESPN, they report that Jay Danzi (Spieth’s agent) has said, “the multiyear deal will be one of the biggest the company has made with an athlete.”
It is also being reported that the deal will place Spieth on the same level as Lebron James, Taylor Swift, and Jennifer Aniston: three of Coke’s highest paid endorsement deal getters.
Along side Coca-Cola, Spieth is also sponsored by Rolex, Under Armour, Titleist, SuperStroke, AT&T, and NetJets.
