Peyton Manning trolls Al-Jazeera America after it announces shut down
By Jack Crosby
After Al-Jazeera America announced it would be shutting down, Peyton Manning was not at a loss for words.
Wednesday we learned the news that after just a few short years, Al-Jazeera America would be shutting itself down. Now prior to a few weeks ago, there might not have been a lot of you out there who were actually familiar with what the news source Al-Jazeera actually was, but once it entered the NFL world and tried to take down one of the biggest faces, you learned who they were then.
A few weeks ago Al-Jazeera issued a report in which they linked none other than Peyton Manning to HGH, quite the bombshell accusation. Word of this quickly spread on a Saturday night and everyone was scampering to find out the truth. Could one of the most recognizable faces in the NFL be taking performance-enhancing substances?
Well, they ended up redacting the original report just a bit and Manning even appeared on ESPN as soon as he possibly could to say how ludicrous the accusations were.
So, as you’d imagine, Manning is not one of the people sad to see the outlet closing its doors. As a matter of fact, he even went out of his usual personality realm to drop a bit of sarcasm.
Hey, after what they essentially tried to do with his career and legacy within the game, can you really blame him to take a few seconds to do a little trolling?
The failed Manning news isn’t what ultimately brought them down, but sadly it will be what they’re most remembered from among casual sports fans.
