Report: Chargers accept deal to join Rams in Los Angeles

The San Diego Chargers are planning to join the Rams in Los Angeles as soon as next season.

The St. Louis Rams are no more, as the Rams have officially announced their relocation to Los Angeles after being in St. Louis for the past 26 years on Tuesday evening. The Rams’ plan to relocate received 30 approving votes, which made the move official.

The San Diego Chargers were among the teams hoping to move to Los Angeles with the Rams, but the Rams’ plan was approved first. The Chargers have until January 16, 2017, to decide whether or not they are going to move to Los Angeles.

The Chargers have made it clear to sources around the league that they are going to move to Los Angeles when the new stadium is built. The Chargers have not made this official yet, but the Chargers are expected to make the announcement of the move to Los Angeles as soon as tonight.

The Rams have plans to build in Inglewood, California, but the stadium won’t be completed until the 2019 season, which will leave the Rams homeless for the next three season. The Rams have planned to temporarily call the Coliseum home until the stadium is built, but it is unclear as to what the Chargers will do until the stadium is built.

There have been reports that the Chargers will either stay in San Diego on a year-to-year lease in their current home, or move to Los Angeles with the Rams and join them next year in the Coliseum.
