Cristiano Ronaldo’s sister wants the vandals who defaced her brother’s statue to be sent to Syria.
The rivalry between the world’s two best players intensifies when talking about the Ballon D’or, the award for the best player on Earth. Both Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi have won it multiple times, and both players believe that they deserve it every year, and it’s no different for the fans. So much so that some Messi fans have took to defacing a Ronaldo statue by painting a No. 10 and “Messi” in red paint across the back of the statue. It is a truly ridiculous, but hilarious, act, and displays the bitterness felt between not only the players, but the fans of the players also.
In reaction to such vandalism, Ronaldo’s sister has taken a rather extreme approach. Backing her brother up, she states that the people who vandalized his statue should be sent to war torn Syria for their actions. An eye for an eye and all that, yeah?
Eu estou com raiva, triste, decepcionada e sem palavras para tão pouca maturidade.É desrespeitoso para os turistas. pic.twitter.com/vqTyup76FV

In English, the most explosive part of the statement reads:
"“My beautiful island, regrettably, is still inhabited by some frustrated savages who deserve to live in Syria, between people that show no respect and hold no value for life in society.”"
I mean, I know you’re meant to back up your family, but that’s a bit far, isn’t it? Sending them to Syria is truly an extreme reaction, and the war-torn country is something that shouldn’t, quite frankly, be joked about.
The Ronaldo family isn’t the most popular in the world, and this sure isn’t going to help them curry any favor.
