It looks as if Shinsuke Nakamura will indeed be doing some work at the WWE Performance Center soon.

Following the original announcement of Shinsuke Nakamura giving his notice to New Japan Pro Wrestling and potentially making his way (finally) into the world of WWE, there has been a lot of speculation as to what sort of path he might take. Will he go to NXT? Will he go straight to the main roster to make an immediate impact at the main-event level? Will he debut in the mid-card on the big stage?

We don’t know exactly how he will show his face on television at the moment but we now do have a little insight as to how he might begin that journey.

According to Mike Johnson over at PW Insider, after Nakamura leaves New Japan officially at the end of January, he will be spending the first few weeks of his WWE tenure at the WWE Performance Center in Florida. During that time, he will also undergo the required medical testing before the company decides to go full force with any plans they may have for the international sensation.

Now, after you saw the words “WWE Performance Center,” some of you are probably freaking out at the possibility that he could debut in NXT and not the main roster as has been speculated. Remember: THAT IS NOT NECESSARILY THE CASE.

Just like any other international star that’s not used to the WWE-style, Nakamura spending a few weeks getting acclimated to the way they do things within the biggest wrestling company on the planet is nothing to get mad at one bit. After spending so much of his professional wrestling career over in Japan, this is going to be a whole new world for him, and the company can’t risk throwing him on TV for a big angle without the proper training. It could ruin the entire thing.

But for now, just be happy that this is another sign the best wrestler on the planet is finally coming to WWE.
