St. Louis Rams fans are making their feelings known on the team’s move to Los Angeles.

Rams fans could not have gotten worse news yesterday. The announcement of the team’s imminent move to Los Angeles is a devastating blow to the fan base that has cheered for the Rams since 1995.

The city hosted “The Greatest Show on Turf,” which delivered fans a Super Bowl XXXIV title to cap off the 1999 season.

The flip side to the sympathy being felt for Rams fans is the jubilation of those who were Los Angeles Rams fans before the team moved in 1995. The franchise was in Los Angeles since 1946, establishing the Rams as a staple of the city. But fans in St. Louis will not care about this point at all. Cleveland Browns fans did not share in the excitement of fans in Baltimore when the Browns moved to Baltimore and gave the city a football team once again.

The overall anger and definite lack of any excitement has been evident as fans have had a day to process the move.

The overwhelming point permeating all the reactions is the hate toward owner Stan Kroenke. No sympathy will ever be given to a billionaire who looks at fans as nothing more than a source of revenue. Kroenke is now joining the ranks of Art Modell, easily one of the most hated professional sports owners of all time.

With the news that the mayor of St. Louis is not looking for another NFL franchise, fans in the city currently sit in limbo, which is a place no fan ever wants to be in.
