It has been revealed that Chandler Jones’ hospitalization was caused by a bad reaction to synthetic marijuana.
Chandler Jones has been one of the New England Patriots‘ best players this year. He has been a sack monster off the edge, has been stout in the run, and has been vital to a Patriots’ defense that is vastly underrated among the league. However, his on field play has been overshadowed by his off field antics this week, and after new information has come to light, it will be interesting to see what the NFL makes of the situation.
Earlier in the week, it was revealed that the Patriots’ defensive end was hospitalized after wandering into a police station confused. It was originally unknown what the reason was for his admittance to hospital, however, as information has seeped out, it was quickly discovered that it was likely drug related in some way. It was first thought that his health issues were perhaps due to a pill overdose, however, it has since been reported that they are due to a negative reaction to synthetic marijuana.
Source with knowledge of the situation confirms it was synthetic marijuana that caused Chandler Jones' bad reaction and hospitalization.

How, why and what the hell Jones was doing with synthetic marijuana is yet to be determined. This story could run and run, and it could be a ticking time bomb for both the NFL and the Patriots. New England hosts the Kansas City Chiefs in the Divisional round of the playoffs on Saturday, and with such a key game coming up so soon, Jones’ behavior is baffling and inexcusable.
He returned to training on Monday, and is still expected to play on Saturday, but there is much more to come from this story.
