10 Potential Bargains in MLB Free Agency

Each MLB offseason offers its share of blue-chip free agents, but it tends to be the bargain free agents that make or break a team. Every year players get overlooked and are forced to sign one-year deals or minor league contracts with invites to spring training. However, it seems that these so called bargain free agents tend to rise to the occasion and make a major impact on the biggest stage in baseball.

In 2013 Mike Napoli signed a one-year $5 million dollar contract with the Boston Red Sox and hit .259, smashed 23 home runs and drove in 93 RBI, all while helping lead the Red Sox to a 2013 World Series Championship. In 2014, Michael Morse went through free agency very quietly and signed a one-year deal with the San Francisco Giants and was instrumental in the Giants winning the World Series as their DH and first bat off the bench. This past season Chris Young signed a one-year deal for $675,000 with the Kansas City Royals and posted a 3.06 ERA and won 11 games. He also earned the win in Game 1 of the 2015 World Series. The 2015-2016 MLB free-agent class offers an interesting mix of potential bargain pitchers and hitters, here are 10 worth noting.
