After the San Francisco 49ers hired Chip Kelly to be head coach, they also pulled Colin Kaepernick’s merchandise off clearance.

When the San Francisco 49ers hired Chip Kelly to be their next head coach, many jumped to the conclusion right away that quarterback Colin Kaepernick would no longer be on his way out of town.

Kaepernick fits the mold of the mobile quarterback that Kelly likes and has shown before that he can be a great quarterback in this league under the right offensive system. It’s clear that Kelly has always been a fan of Kaepernick and Kaepernick had long been a rumored target for the Eagles in Philadelphia when Kelly was the coach there.

There’s also another sign that Kaepernick will be remaining the quarterback in San Francisco. Those that went on the 49ers’ team store online on Thursday, noticed that his gear was no longer on clearance.

After he was benched during the season for his erratic play, the team put his gear on sale as a sign that his time with the 49ers would soon be coming to an end.

Well that doesn’t appear to be the case and it’s now back to full pricing for Kaepernick merchandise.

Those that had the foresight to go buy Kaepernick while his merchandise was at a low, are the real winners in this situation.

However, should he not take off under Kelly and business remain as usual, then everyone who purchased a jersey will end up with remorse over their purchase.
