Bulls forward Doug McDermott threw down a huge dunk on the 76ers on Thursday

The Chicago Bulls have been waiting for some sort of consistency from second-year forward Doug McDermott since they drafted him last year. Despite his obvious talents at the NBA level, though, he hasn’t quite come along as quickly as many would have liked. That being said, the Philadelphia 76ers found out in a big way just what McDermott is capable of.

In what had been a wild game for three-and-a-half quarters against the Sixers on Thursday night, the Bulls erased a 20-plus-point deficit in the first half to be in a back-and-forth battle late in the fourth quarter. That happens to be when McDermott got the rock driving down the middle of the lane and just rose up over the Philly defense to throw down a monster dunk:

Teach me how to Dougie, or something like that.

McBuckets was really known for his outside shooting ability while he was in college at Creighton, but it can’t be forgotten that he’s absolutely a freak of an athlete that can jump out of the gym. If he can ever put together consistently what it takes to produce night in and night out in the Association, he has all the physical tools to make it and do so with flying colors.
