DraftKings daily picks: Fantasy basketball lineup-January 14

High Value PF
Nikola Mirotic-Chicago Bulls (5,900): Mirotic is one of the healthiest Bulls’ options on offense, and I think he’s set up for a good game against the 76ers with Pau Gasol out, Rose and Butler hurting, and Gibson and Noah more defensively focused. Mirotic has been on a nice run of production over his last seven games with at least 23 fantasy points in each of those contests and a pair of game with at least 40 fantasy points. Given the ineptitude of the Sixers and the injuries his own team is dealing with, Mirotic should be extremely active against Philadelphia and help lead Chicago to the win in Phily tonight. ∗∗∗∗∗
Taj Gibson-Chicago Bulls (5,600): Gibson should get extra playing time tonight with Pau Gasol out and Joakim Noah still working his way back to full strength. Gibson is capable of big games as he showed us while Noah was out, but he has been held under 22 fantasy points in each of his last four contests. Tonight against the 76ers, Gibson is a play with upside despite his recent struggles especially given Philadelphia’s rank as the worst defensive team in the NBA against opposing PF (measured in fantasy points at least). The biggest threat to Gibson may be Bobby Portis who has had a few good games when given extra time against weaker opponents, but remember Portis played just four minutes in Chicago’s last game. I think Gibson will end up the better option tonight. ∗∗∗
Larry Nance Jr.-Los Angeles Lakers (4,900): Nance isn’t one of the young names you hear a lot of buzz about on the Lakers, but he has been pretty consistent and getting plenty of playing time lately. Nance has at least 20 fantasy points in six of his last seven games and eight of his last ten. He finished Tuesday’s game with 21 fantasy points on eight points, six boards, and two steals. The only reason I hesitate with Nance tonight is that the Warriors lineups normally don’t let other teams play their PF very much. ∗
Trey Lyles-Utah Jazz (4,100): Even with no Draymond last night, the Warriors cheap PF options were pretty useless. If you have to go ultra-cheap at PF tonight, I’d suggest checking out Trey Lyles instead who has been filling in admirably while Derrick Favors has been sidelined. Lyles has at least 19 fantasy points in three of his last four games, and he should get the start in a good matchup against the Kings if Favors is out again tonight.
