The best sleepers at each position for DraftKings daily fantasy basketball on Tuesday, Jan. 14

The NBA normally takes a respite on Thursdays in terms of the number of games on the schedule and Thursday, Jan. 14 isn’t much difference. Where there were 20 teams in action on Wednesday night, there are only six games and 12 teams in action on Thursday. Obviously, that further increases the importance of finding the perfect sleepers in DraftKings daily fantasy basketball that will help DFS players win their respective games and tournaments.

On Wednesday night with so many teams in action, there were a number of big time sleepers that emerged as some of the best fantasy options on the night. New Orleans Pelicans guard Eric Gordon ($4,800) put up 49.8 fantasy points, Derrick Williams of the New York Knicks ($3,600) accrued 42.3 fantasy points, Boston Celtics veteran big man Amir Johnson ($4,900) exploded for 50.5 fantasy points, and Los Angeles Clippers center Cole Aldrich ($3,100) came out of nowhere and put up 33.3 fantasy points.

As you can see and as is often the case, sleepers can come out of nowhere, but they can also be seen coming in many instances. Whether that’s because of an increased role in their team’s rotation or simply the fact that they’ve been playing really well lately, identifying sleepers is one of the biggest keys to winning in daily fantasy basketball.

The Thursday slate of games is a bit strange on Jan. 14, though, because the Orlando Magic and Toronto Raptors will be playing in London, England for a 3 p.m. ET start. Because most contests don’t include all six games, but many include the five games after the 7 p.m. ET start for the Chicago Bulls taking on the Philadelphia 76ers, we’re only going to focus on the five later games in terms of looking for the best sleeper picks.
