Derrick Henry declared for the 2016 NFL Draft Thursday after a stellar junior season at Alabama and here are five teams that could look to draft him this spring.

Could Alabama Crimson Tide star running back Derrick Henry have had a better season than the one he had in 2015? No, and that’s probably a huge reason that Henry announced his intentions to enter the 2016 NFL Draft, despite having one more year of collegiate eligibility at the University of Alabama.

Henry won the 2015 Heisman Trophy and the 2016 College Football Playoff as the Crimson Tide’s best player this past fall. He was an unstoppable force, tiring down even the best defensive front sevens in the NCAA, with his bell-cow workload in the Alabama offense.

Henry would often carry the football over 30 times, not out of necessity for the Crimson Tide, but to effectively grind the opponents’ defense into nothingness with his crushing downhill running style.

Even though the NFL doesn’t value running backs as much as they had even a decade ago, Henry’s stellar 2015 campaign may end up making him the only tailback to go in the first round of the 2016 NFL Draft.

He’s not a great receiver out of the backfield and doesn’t have the lateral quickness as others in the recent college game, but likely somebody covets his hard-nosed, punishing running style enough to merit a first round pick.

Here are five NFL teams that could conceivably draft Henry in the 2016 NFL Draft this upcoming spring.
