The USC Trojans are planning on restoring the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum after 2017.

The USC Trojans are going to be sharing their stadium with the Los Angeles Rams again next year. The Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum has been one of the most iconic homes in football for some time and as things go usually go in life, it has aged quite a bit.

Rather than seek a new stadium like plenty of teams would, there’s no replacing the Coliseum. It has a place in history and will always be known as the home of USC.

So with the Coliseum in need of some repairs and updating, their is going to be a restoration of the stadium. According to Rand Getlin, USC plans to spend $270 million after the 2017 season.

It makes sense that the Coliseum is finally getting a makeover. While the building is legendary and has seen some of the greatest events in sports history, it also needs to be kept up to match modern times and there’s ways to do that without taking away from the legacy of the stadium.

The artist renderings are sweet and it keeps that sacred feeling of the Coliseum. It might be a couple of years away, but USC clearly has their eye on the future.
