
It’s safe to say that not a whole lot has gone right for the 13-26 New Orleans Pelicans so far this season. Sure, they’ve been absolutely crushed by a nonstop blitz of injuries, but it’s not like they’ve been exactly killing it with a relatively full squad, either.
One thing they did get right, though, was this play at the end of Friday night’s game against the Hornets. With things all tied up at 107 and only a few seconds to go, New Orleans ran a gorgeous ATO play that resulted in this sublime Anthony Davis jam off the lob from Jrue Holiday (h/t @NBATV):
This is perfect offense. With Cody Zeller overcommitted to stopping Holiday’s path to the rim, Jeremy Lin was the only thing between Davis and the bucket. This was never going to end well for the Hornets. More of this, please, Pelicans.
