DraftKings daily picks: Fantasy hockey lineup- January 15
High Salary G
Devan Dubnyk-Minnesota Wild ($7,800): Minnesota’s top netminder will be protecting the goal tonight at home against Winnipeg. He’s struggled lately, losing two of his last three starts and allowing a total of seven goals in the two losses. However, he’s had an overall strong season and has posted 18 wins so far. A decent matchup at home tonight with Winnipeg makes Dubnyk a solid start.
Tuukka Rask-Boston Bruins ($7,700): Rask has dropped his last five starts and has been a complete bust to fantasy owners since the calendar turned to January. However, he’s still a talented goalie with the potential to deliver big performances. Chances are that Rask will be able to turn things around soon. A favorable matchup against Buffalo tonight could be just what he needs. The Sabres are one of the lowest-scoring teams in the league, making Rask a sneaky play tonight.
High Value G
Kari Lehtonen-Dallas Stars ($7,200): The Dallas Stars have worked on a goalie rotation this year but Antti Niemi has gotten the majority of the starts lately. However, Niemi struggled in his last start while Lehtonen was sharp in his. There’s no confirmed starter yet, but it seems likely that Lehtonen will be in net since he rested on the bench in the last game. The fact that Dallas is a high-powered offense and Anaheim is the worst team in the league at scoring goals makes Lehtonen a quality target should he get the nod tonight.
Cam Ward- Carolina Hurricanes ($6,700): Carolina has struggled for much of the season but the Hurricanes, along with their top goalie, have played well recently. Ward has reeled off three straight wins and got the night off on Thursday, meaning he’ll likely get the start tonight against a Vancouver team that’s coming off a loss in Washington last night. Ward has a great price, has been playing well, and gets a good matchup, making him a strong goalie to target tonight.
