Luca Toni, came out on Friday to suggest that Louis van Gaal does not like players from Latin countries.

It has been a difficult season for Louis van Gaal and Manchester United, to say the least. The English giants have struggled to find their form, with a plethora of reports emerging that Louis van Gaal could be sacked at any moment. The club currently sit sixth in the Premier League table, with just 34 points from 21 matches. They have also already been eliminated from the UEFA Champions League, after finishing third in the group stage.

On Friday, things went from bad to worse for van Gaal, with his former player, Luca Toni, accusing him of not liking players from certain countries. Van Gaal coached Toni at Bayern Munich, with the Italian not having the fondest memories of the Dutchman.

“Louis van Gaal cannot stand players from Latin countries,” the Hellas Verona striker said in an interview with the Corriere dello Sport.

“At Bayern he was always looking for the opportunity to complain about me, Franck Ribery and Lucio because the fans loved us.”

At 37 years old, Toni became the oldest player to win the Capocannoniere – player with the most goals in Serie A – last season, when he finished tied with Inter striker, Mauro Icardi, with 22 goals. He has already come out to suggest that the current campaign will be his last playing professional soccer, turning down offers to continue his career abroad.
