Patrick Kane takes NHL goal lead (Video)
Patrick Kane grabbed the NHL lead in goals scored with two second period goals against the Maple Leafs.
Chicago Blackhawks right wing Patrick Kane entered Friday’s battle against the Toronto Maple Leafs second in the league in goals scored. After a scoreless first period, the Hawks scored two goals in the second period to grab a 2-0 lead. Kane scored both of them to grab the goal scoring lead from Capitals forward Alex Ovechkin.

The tying goal was great. It’s rare to see Kane score those kinds of goals. Kane is able to get to those tough spots because he’s so quick and his hockey IQ is off the charts. You usually only see the bigger players get there, but when you’re quick like Kane, you don’t need to be there for that long so size doesn’t matter.
His second goal was even more impressive. After being high-sticked by defenseman Matt Hunwick, Kane got his revenge on Hunwick by scoring a ridiculous power play goal. There wasn’t much the Leafs could do about that one. It was all Panarin and Kane.
Kane has a mighty small window to get that puck through and he manages to do it. Patrick Kane now has 65 points on the season.
