Alex Smith was finally able to get the Chiefs offense into the end zone against the Patriots.

For the most part in the AFC Divisional Playoff game on Saturday, the Kansas City Chiefs offense was struggling, especially in the red zone. Alex Smith would get the group there, but they were never really able to get the ball in the end zone. They went into the half down to the Patriots 14-6, with just two field goals to show for everything through two quarters.

In the third quarter, though, things would change, as Smith and the offense would get the ball across the goal line.

After Smith had one of the best scrambles of the year and he hit Jason Avant, who made a spectacular catch, on the drive, they would finish it all off with this touchdown pass to Albert Wilson.

The Chiefs aren’t out of this game by any means, and they really needed this drive and score. They needed to get some sort of confidence injected into them after their first half struggles and this score was able to do just that.

Now if they can hit a few more of these in the final quarter, they might be alright.
