Chiefs head coach Andy Reid’s Wikipedia entry was edited to poke fun at his infamous clock management
Prior to the Kansas City Chiefs facing off with the New England Patriots on Saturday in the first of two AFC Divisional Round games, Chiefs head coach Andy Reid had a pretty bad rap regarding his clock management. That was the case when he was coaching in Philadelphia and has been the case at times in Kansas City. It also happened to be the case late in the fourth quarter against the Pats when they let seemingly minutes roll off the clock while behind two scores.
As you’d expect, Chiefs fans were livid at Reid’s inability to manage the clock in that situation while non-fans just marveled that he was making the same mistakes yet. In all of this, though, someone felt compelled to edit Reid’s Wikipedia entry to poke fun at his clock management in the opening graph:

In case you’re missing it, the line that’s not supposed to be there would be, “He has the clock management skills of a fig.” That’s possibly the best insult that I could imagine to a coach. It’s not vulgar or over-the-top, but it’s quirky and memorable enough that Reid could have people calling him “Fig” next season because of it—please, please somewhat put the wheels in motion t make that a thing that happens.
That being said, Reid’s old demons with the clock seem to have not gone anywhere and finally revealed themselves on the biggest stage. Live by the Fig, die by the Fig.
