Chelsea’s season keeps going from bad to worse, as John Terry scored an embarrassing own goal at Stamford Bridge against Everton.
After a scoreless first half at Stamford Bridge between Chelsea and Everton, the visitors took the lead without having to find the back of the net themselves. Chelsea defender John Terry did the Toffees a massive favor by beating Chelsea goalkeeper,
Thibaut Courtois, himself in the 50th minute.
The away side did eventually score one of their own just six minutes later, when Kevin Mirallas put his side up in the 56th minute. It was just the Belgian’s first goal of the Premier League season, even though he did also score in FA Cup action against Dagenham & Redbridge.

Chelsea came into Saturday’s contest in 14th spot, with 24 points from 21 matches. Although Guus Hiddink replaced Jose Mourinho behind the Chelsea bench in December, the Dutch tactician has not been able to get his side to perform much better.
Everton, on the other hand, came into the match in London with 28 points from 21 matches, but are also in the bottom half of the table. It has been a disappointing season for Roberto Martinez’s side, who were hoping to compete for a spot in Europe next season.
Chelsea will be back in action next Sunday in a crucial affair against bitter rivals, Arsenal, at 11:00 a.m ET, while Everton will host Swansea City next Sunday at Goodison Park in the early game at 8:30 a.m. ET.
