Michigan State hockey player Connor Wood parted his opponent’s defense with sick moves to almost score the goal of the year

The Michigan State Spartans men’s hockey team has had a disappointing year with a 5-16-2 record including a 1-6-0 record in conference play. Taking on their conference rival Minnesota Golden Gophers on Saturday, redshirt junior forward Connor Wood made it a point to try to make the season highlight reel. He likely will with the way that he parted the Gophers defense. Props to freshman Gophers goalie Eric Schierhorn for finding out where the puck was because that absolutely should have been a goal.

That play should be on everyone’s highlight reel even though he didn’t score. What an incredible burst there from Wood and he showed some incredible puck handling skills. He finished strong as well. Brown has three points (one goal and two assists) this season for the Spartans.

Props to Schierhorn for making that save. Great positioning and he made that save look much easier than it actually was. He has a 10-10-0 record this season with a .910 save percentage. And that play will be on HIS highlight reel.
