Danny Amendola led with his head on a cheap hit and that started a mini brawl between the Patriots and Chiefs

The Kansas City Chiefs were forced to punt to the New England Patriots and return man Danny Amendola after starting a drive with great field-position. However, Amendola elected to let the ball go over his head in hopes that it would go into the end zone. When it didn’t, though, and the Chiefs were looking to down the ball, Amendola then unleashed a vicious hit that looked quite dirty as he led with his head and hit Jamell Fleming in the head:

After the hit, three Chiefs players took exception to Amendola’s action (as they probably should have) and got in Amendola’s face as a little mini scuffle broke out between the two teams:

The officials did a great job making sure that didn’t escalate into anything more because that situation certainly had the potential to. Everyone remembers how ugly the matchup between the Cincinnati Bengals and Pittsburgh Steelers became late in the action after the Vontaze Burfict hit on Antonio Brown and this had the potential to get to that point after such a dirty hit.

However, the Patriots weren’t even really effected by it much at all. The penalty levied to Amendola resulted in about a two-yard loss, which was relatively nothing to the Patriots—especially considering he’d be headed for the locker room for that kind of hit if this were college football.
