Eddie Lacy came up with a huge run for the Packers in the third quarter against the Cardinals
The Green Bay Packers were trying to jump ahead of the Arizona Cardinals early in the second half of their NFC Divisional round game on Saturday after the Cards had led for almost the entirety of the matchup. Without Randall Cobb, though, that seemed like an uphill battle. That’s when Packers running back Eddie Lacy stepped up to the plate.
Lacy rumbled behind his line for a first down and seemed to get a solid gain, but that’s when the big back spun through a crease in the defense and turned on the “jets” in the open field. The Cardinals predictably caught him before he could get into the end zone, but not before he ripped off 61 yards after gashing through the Arizona defense:
A man that size should not be able to bust out a spin move that vicious. That doesn’t even seem remotely possible, yet Lacy made it happen against Arizona.
Because of his apparent weight problems, injuries, and a host of other things, Lacy has been embattled all season for the Packers after a breakout year in 2014. If he’s ever going to come back to life consistently for Green Bay, though, the playoffs is probably when Aaron Rodgers and company would appreciate it the most.
