Latvian rap duo make song about Kristaps Porzingis (Video)

Kristaps Porzingis’ legend in Latvia continues to grow on the court and on Soundcloud.

Once the Knicks drafted Kristaps Porzingis, they have already eclipsed their win total from all of last season. Porzingis continues to prove the people who booed him on draft night wrong, and his spectacular plays suggest that he’s going to be the next great European star. Just recently, he made the entire Grizzlies team look silly.

Porzingis is the stuff of legend in his native Latvia. He had a song made about him, which you might remember was featured on an ESPN commercial. Well, another rap group has come out with a song which contains references to his teammate Carmelo Anthony and encourages people to #NBAVote. The song’s title is “Keep Calm Like Kristaps Porzingis”:

The song, which is unquestionably super hot fire, is unlikely to land the group a deal with a record label. However, it’s an endearing song for Knicks fans, Latvians, and any basketball fan who’s been enjoying Porzingis’ rookie season (or in other words, literally everybody).

The Eastern Conference is very tight right now, and there’s a fine line between eighth and ninth place. It’s hard to say whether Porzingis’ play will actually help carry the Knicks to the playoffs after the dumpster fire that was last season, but if he did, he would be forever a part of New York Knicks lore.
