Randall Cobb injury update: Packers WR carted to locker room

The last thing the Green Bay Packers need is to lose another receiver — like Randall Cobb. 

UPDATE: The Packers have downgraded Cobb to out for the rest of the game. He will not play again until either the NFC Championship game or the start of the 2016 season.

One thing that the Packers have been able to do this season is win without Jordy Nelson. Those wins haven’t come easy and they’ve no doubt lost some games thanks to Nelson’s absence, but they still managed to get into the postseason and get to the NFC Divisional Round.

But how far they go all depends on how healthy they can stay as they are about as thin as it gets at wide receiver. That’s why it’s such a nerve-racking thing that Randall Cobb was carted to the locker room in the first half of Saturday’s game against the Cardinals.

Cobb had just made an amazing catch that didn’t count thanks to a Packers penalty and then left the game. It wasn’t clear at the time what the cause of the injury was, but Cobb needed the cart to escort him to the x-ray room for the Packers.

NBC’s sideline reporter Michelle Tafoya reported that it was a chest injury for Cobb and that his return to the game was
