Rob Gronkowski opened up the scoring for the Patriots in their Divisional game against the Chiefs

The New England Patriots entered their Divisional Round matchup with the Kansas City Chiefs on Saturday afternoon the healthiest that they’ve been all season. However, star tight end Rob Gronkowski was listed as questionable in the days leading up to the game before ultimately being named active a little more than an hour before kickoff. Gronk looked pretty damn healthy on the first drive of the game.

After already having picked up a big first down for the Pats midway through the opening drive of the contest, the Patriots found themselves in the red zone and needing to get into the end zone. That’s when Tom Brady looked the way of old reliable and found Gronkowski in the front left corner of the end zone with a beautiful pass that the big party boy hauled in to open up the scoring:

With the big first down and two big catches on the drive before that, Gronkowski looked like a man amongst boys against this Chiefs defense. While Kansas City has been terrific on that side of the ball for the majority of the season, Gronk is a different beast entirely. If the Patriots tight end continues to have that type of success against them like he did on the opening drive, it’ll be a long day for Andy Reid’s group.
