TCU Horned Frogs vs No. 1 Kansas Jayhawks

The TCU Horned Frogs are notoriously known for being one of the weaker teams in the Big 12 in basketball — and even in their time before joining the conference they weren’t a highly-regarded basketball program. It’s been 18 years since the Horned Frogs last made the NCAA Tournament and it will take a miracle run at the end of this season to make it in 2015-16.

Losers of three of four in conference play, TCU is led by just two double-digit scorers: Vladimir Brodziansky and Malique Trent. Both players average 11.7 points per game while Brodziansky is, by far, the better shooter this season. Trent is hitting just under 40 percent of his field goals and just about 20 percent of his threes. This team will need to find more scorers to beat Kansas.

Perry Ellis constantly hears the joke that he’s been at Kansas for about 10 years now and should be earning his doctoral degree. However, he’s still one of the premier players in the nation and the veteran forward leads the No. 1-ranked Jayhawks in scoring with 16.3 points per game as well as rebounding with 6.9 boards.

Kansas is coming off its second loss of the season at West Virginia on Tuesday and will be looking to rebound with a big victory over lowly TCU at home. Sure, Kansas won’t be No. 1 come Monday afternoon when the new rankings come out, but a blowout win on Saturday could secure them a top-five position.
