No. 11 West Virginia Mountaineers vs No. 2 Oklahoma Sooners

West Virginia just took down the No. 1 team in the country earlier this week and will now have to face the No. 2 team in quite possibly the most difficult stretch of basketball any team will have to play this season. The Mountaineers have won eight games in a row and are currently in first place in the competitive Big 12 with a 4-0 start to conference play.

Devin Williams has been a matchup nightmare for some teams in the post as the junior forward is averaging a team-high 14.7 points and 8.8 rebounds while shooting about 53 percent from the field. If the Mountaineers are going to take down Oklahoma on the road, they’ll have to rely on him in the post.

Oklahoma is getting ready to take over the No. 1 spot in the polls, but the Sooners will have to get through West Virginia on Saturday afternoon in order to do so. This won’t be an easy task, though, since the Mountaineers did what Oklahoma couldn’t do a week ago: beat top-ranked Kansas. The Sooners will be ready for this one, though, as Buddy Hield will surely bring his ‘A’ game.

Hield has been a frontrunner for national player of the year basically all season thanks to his 26.6 points and 5.7 rebounds per game to go along with a 51 percent shooting touch from long-range. He will surely be the different in this one.
