Carolina Panthers tight end Greg Olsen is questionable to return with a shoulder injury.

The Panthers don’t have a huge passing game, but Pro Bowl tight end Greg Olsen is the one weapon who quarterback Cam Newton can always rely on. Unfortunately, Olsen has left the NFC Divisional game against the Seattle Seahawks with a shoulder injury after taking a crushing hit from safety Kam Chancellor.

Without Olsen on the field, Carolina will be forced to try its luck with the likes of Corey Brown, Ted Ginn Jr. and Ed Dickson. Luckily for Newton, the Panthers have been leading throughout the contest and at this point, are simply trying to bleed the clock all the way to the NFC Championship game.

The bigger story is whether Olsen will be ready next week, should Carolina advance. The Panthers would be in a bad way offensively without Olsen, who played more snaps than any other tight end, running back or wide receiver this season. Olsen caught 77 passes for 1,104 yards and seven touchdowns. Only Rob Gronkowski of the New England Patriots had more yardage than Olsen as a tight end.

Should the Panthers win and advance, they would host the Arizona Cardinals next Sunday for the right to go to the Super Bowl.
