In his first game back from injury, Jonathan Stewart made his presence felt early with a huge run and a touchdown on his first two carries

Carolina Panthers running back Jonathan Stewart is back from an injury that cost him the final three games of the regular season. It’s safe to say that he has fresh legs. Fans had to wonder how he would do in his first game back. Stewart put all those doubts to rest on just his first carry. His first carry went for 59 yards against the Seattle Seahawks.

Stewart wasn’t done on that drive. After Newton got a first down to put the ball down around the 5-yard line, Stewart finished what he started with a touchdown run.

Stewart is a very underrated cog of the Panthers offense. He carried the ball 242 times this season for 989 yards. He likely would have hit the 1,000 yard mark had he not gotten injured. He also ran for six touchdowns during the regular season. He has ran for 5,814 career yards.

Jonathan Stewart got the game started off on the right foot for the Panthers who needed to make a statement early on and force the Seahawks to adjust to them. They lead 7-0 early.
