After Manchester United’s massive 1-0 win at Anfield, Phil Jones celebrated with the away supporters.

Wayne Rooney was the hero for Manchester United as they stole three points away from home. They beat Liverpool for the second time this season, which is always cause for a celebration. Man U’s away supporters were out in full voice, and Phil Jones was part of the traveling contingent. Jones, who has been injured, couldn’t take part in the game, but he expressed how happy he was on Twitter after the game:

"Our Fans are the best! Buzzing! #AwayDays #MUFC ⚽️ https://t.co/aXXaSh1D7s— Phil Jones (@PhilJones4) January 17, 2016"

This is the type of win that can help turn United’s season around. Before the game, they were languishing around sixth place while Liverpool were ninth. But after getting the win, Man U are within striking distance of a Champions League spot – just two points back of Tottenham.

As tumultuous as Man U’s season has been, their fans have always showed up. They haven’t been afraid to let the team know how they feel either, as poor attacking displays have drawn boos from the supporters. This wasn’t a great attacking display, but it was just enough to get them over the line.

One thing that hasn’t been poor is United’s back-line. For a player that was linked with a move away at the start of the season, David de Gea has been extraordinary and he came up big in this game to get the clean sheet. Now it’s up to the team to turn this win into at least a top four finish in the Premier League table.
