According to reports out of England, West Ham United are preparing to launch a bid for Milan striker, Mario Balotelli, who is on loan from Liverpool.
Mario Balotelli is just as known for his antics off the pitch as his performances on it. The Italian international is just 25-years-old, but has already played with five different clubs and is currently in his second stint with Milan.
While he has managed to avoid controversy and stay out of the spotlight this season, he has only been able to muster a total of four appearances due to injury. He last featured for the Rossoneri back in September, in a 1-0 loss to Genoa.
With Milan not looking very willing to buy back the striker they sold to Liverpool for £16 million ($22.8 million) at the start of last season, the Premier League side are already starting to ponder possible options for the player. His agent, Mino Raiola, recently came out to suggest that his client could return to Liverpool, but the Reds do not appear too interested and emerging speculation would suggest otherwise.
According to a report out of England from the Brentwood Gazette, West Ham United are getting ready to launch a £10 million ($14.25 million) bid for the player. If the numbers are accurate, it would represent a loss of £6 million ($8.5 million) for the Anfield outfit, but at this point it looks like more than anyone else is willing to pay for the Italian.
Although Balotelli doesn’t have the greatest reputation, he would bring a plethora of experience to West Ham. Along with three Serie A titles and a UEFA Champions League, he has also won the Premier League, an FA Cup, and the Community Shield.
West Ham are enjoying an astounding season, currently fighting for a place in Europe with 35 points from 22 matches.
